NVALAS La Semilla Institute for "Lead Loudly: Identity, Advocacy, and Transformational Leadership," a 21-hour virtual institute designed for professionals. This event features keynote speaker Richard A. Carranza, along with Dr. Marion Smith, Brian Benavides, and Dr. Elda Garcia. Additional speakers will be announced. The institute runs on December 5-6 & 12-13, costs $120, and offers the opportunity to earn CU's or Admin Step Advancement Hours. Limited seating is available to increase access to experts. An ongoing leadership development series designed to inspire and equip youth to the powerful community leaders, influencers, and changemakers!

Participants will:

  • Discover their leadership identity through self-awareness and personal growth

  • Develop civic agency by learning how to influence change in their communities

  • Build confidence and self-efficacy to take action

  • Connect with a powerful network of peers and community leaders

  • Plan and showcase a culminating. community project that makes a real difference

Youth ages 16-24 who are ready to lead, grow, and give back to their community.

This town hall will explore essential policy priorities for supporting English Learners and marginalized communities in both K-12 and post-secondary education. Organized by the Nevada Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (NVALAS), this forum is open to all community members, including students, families, educators, elected officials, workforce partners, NSHE officials, and business leaders.

Event Highlights

  • A distinguished panel of NVALAS Policy Committee members, state education policy experts, K-12 leaders, and local high school students.

  • In-depth discussions on Latino-focused educational policies and their impact on state and local communities.

  • Each panel will conclude with an interactive Q&A session, offering participants the opportunity to engage with panelists and discuss ways to advocate for equitable and effective policies.

Attendees will gain insights into NVALAS’s policy priorities and actionable strategies to drive positive changes in educational environments.
